Crazy Good Bakery And Cafe sits just off Dunlap Drive in South Lake Tahoe, tucked into a cozy spot that feels like a favorite neighborhood gathering place rather than a typical tourist stop. It’s the kind of café where locals swing by on their morning commute or pause during errands, especially if they’re charging an electric car nearby. The space itself has a relaxed, homey vibe with colorful, farm-inspired decor that invites you to linger over a cup of coffee or a thoughtfully crafted pastry.

Coffee here draws a steady crowd throughout the day, with options like lattes, iced mochas, and an ice vanilla latte that keep folks coming back for a quick caffeine boost or a casual catch-up break. The cafés' quick service and friendly team make it a practical spot to grab something delicious even when a line forms on weekend mornings. It moves quickly, which is a relief if you’re just popping in for a bite before heading out on Lake Tahoe adventures.

The menu shows clear care in its variety and balance of sweet and savory. The ham and Swiss croissant stands out for being soft, a little garlicky, and generously stuffed, making it a popular savory pick. On the sweeter side, the apple pie croissant and lemon blueberry crumb cake hold their shapes well without getting soggy, perfect for sharing or savoring alongside a fresh latte. There’s a nice range of baked goods as well — from cinnamon rolls and almond bear claws to gluten-free chocolate raspberry muffins, which points to an inclusive approach for different tastes and dietary needs.

Visitors can expect clean, inviting surroundings with an engaging staff that adds to the warmth, making the café feel more like a small community hub than just a quick stop. The casual atmosphere suits solo coffee drinkers, groups of friends tasting a variety of treats, and anyone who appreciates a solid pastry paired with approachable coffee. Weekday mornings or the slightly busier late mornings on weekends are the times to come if you want to experience the full rhythm of the place in action.

In sum, Crazy Good Bakery And Cafe works well for locals and travelers alike who want a quiet but lively spot to relax, refuel, or meet friends in South Lake Tahoe's residential edges. The combination of quality pastries, interesting sandwich options, and a few quirky extras (like a souvenir section and some unexpected menu items) rounds out its character as a distinctly local bakery and café experience.

A group of friends and I went here and had a great time. We ordered a bit and had a taste party. The ham and Swiss croissant was the best I’ve ever had. It was garlicky and soft. The smear options for the bagels were so flavorful. The apple pie croissant was sweet and held together well. The staff was super sweet and engaging. The place was clean and cozy. I can’t wait to come back!

Found this place in South Lake Tahoe while I was waiting for my electric car to charge. It's a cute little shop. The food was delicious and I enjoyed my Ice Vanilla latte. Will come again when ever I need to charge my car while visiting Tahoe!

This a wonderful little bakery at the Y in South Lake Tahoe. The staff was very friendly, professional and quick service. There can be a line sometimes but it moves fast. The prices are fair. Literally everything we tried was amazing. My favorite was the ham and cheese croissant.

When there is always a line waiting to order on a Friday and Saturday late morning, you know you have come to the right place. Crazy Good Bakery and Cafe is such an unassuming little house from the outside, but inside, is a colorful world of sweet decor, farm and bakery kitchen decor, and then amazing pastries, bagel sandwiches, muffins, and fantastic coffee. I have been twice in two days and everything that I have eaten was so good. I had the apple pie croissant, and my husband had the apple, walnut, and raisin strudel. Both fantastic! Today, I got their cinnamon roll and bear claw, and my husband got the bagel sandwich with ham and cheese on a seaseme bagel. We really enjoyed everything we got!

The staff is so friendly and so efficient continuously restocking. The geisha customers are happy and the store is clean and full of cute things you can buy while you’re waiting in line they put sandwiches on croissants. They have bagel sandwich, options, Minh, coffee options and lots of yummy, unique pastries. Let’s not forget how kind and amazing the staff is even they slam. They’re sweet and work really hard. I always buy too much because everything looks so good. I bought a croissant sandwich that takes 15 minutes but the rest is fast. We also bought coffee and pastries and a cute magnet.

Crazy Good Bakery absolutely delivers on its name! The pastries and breakfast sandwiches were an absolute hit—fresh, buttery, and packed with flavor. The croissant breakfast sandwich was perfectly flaky and golden, and their pastry case is filled with tempting options like chocolate croissants, muffins, and sweet breads. Be prepared for a line (it moves a bit slowly), but it’s worth every minute. The staff is super friendly, and the coffee is solid, making it a perfect stop for breakfast or a quick treat. If you’re visiting South Lake Tahoe, this cozy bakery is a must-visit for a true local gem experience!
